"On May 23, 1845, Elizabeth "Betsy" Reed became the first woman in Illinois to be hanged by a jury. 20,000 people traveled to Lawrenceville, IL to witness the execution. Today, legends persist that her spirit still wanders the countryside."

This is music composed for and inspired by the documentary Hanging Elizabeth Reed: A Ghost Story. Special thanks to Joe Tury for allowing me to be a part of this project.
